The definitive gameplay enhancement mod for the GZDoom and Zandronum engines. Adds realistic gore, dismemberments, headshots, executions, lightning effects, particles, makes enemies smarter and harder, makes gun louder and beefier, and adds epic new boss battles.

Description

Are you exploring a dark cave only to find its dark as f*ck in there and monsters are attacking you left and right and you have NO clue where youre going either way? Well these trinkets are for you! These are the UDV (DarkDoom) and Standard (Beamlight) flashlights! There are 4 flashlights, two of the original versions, and two low quality versions for low end systems! Just press F and you have brightened up your day! (And can see whats actually in front of you and/or attacking you) Load after HUD mods (NOT UDV...yet), and before any other mods after that. Enjoy!

Original creator of the Beam Flashlight PK3s was TheZombieKiller, not SlyDoyle or Saegiru.

Also lol that pic. 10/10

Still a very useful addon (for any kind of Doom, not just BD or PB).

I didn't test this yet, since I use UDV, but i guess that THIS flashlight doesn't trigger monsters, so you can turn it on with no probs :D

I'd like to see UDV patch too, thank you TheBarge :)

Hmm, and where is that option menu? Maybe i'm blind, but i don't see anything o_O

well i'm using this with hxrtc hud 3.3 version for pb and works like a charm, i haven't tried other huds but maybe i run some test later, anyway i messed a bit with position but i decided to keep central position because i'm already use to it, now all we need is color control and this will be best flashlight ever

Oh? Well i should clarify, HUD's with MENU OPTIONS arent configured yet, such as for UDV

Ya know color changing flashlights would be cool like if we switch it to red we could see invisible monsters (just saying)

Hmm, that does sound cool, although i want to make a custom BD Leg color pack, like slider and all to choose whatever color you want

I wonder if its possible to add flashlight mods similar to doom 3 in this. That game had like 50 different kinds lol.

That's also a nice idea like red yellow light blue white like that. Or a rainbow color (rapid-changing colors)

Or maybe (if possible) the leg color changes when we change the color of the doomguy in player setup.

Thats exactly what i was aiming for! however for some sprite work thats a-hell-of a lot of work to do, because you cant do that with multiple items in one frame or else they all get the color effect

Ohh youre fine! Were all beginners at one point, and well, theres an app called ZDL 3.2.2.2, id download that to load whatever you want in what order, and take a look at Project Brutalities load guide, its pretty useful!

Sure! and first things first, load your mods in the right order, Project Brutalties Load Guide will help tremendously. But in short, load this mod after any BD version, then also after any HUD mods you have also if you do use any :) and no problemo!

Thank you for responding! So how then would you suggest I load the mod then? I'm trying to get it to work on the E1M1 Doom3 Style mod and this is how I load it on ZDL: Brutal Doom > Flashlight Mod > Dark Doom > E1M1D3

As I had said I'm refletively new to modding so I am a bit noobish at it right now >_<

How can I change the intensity of the dark doom flashlight? It's so dimm.
I would use Beam flashlight but the quality isn't that good

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
⋆Ƅarge™ Author
⋆Ƅarge™

The intensity isnt really able to be changed unless i recode the flashlights overall beam amount. Meaning the amount of brightened pixels and the intensity of them in one area. The flashlight is an exact replica of the UDV flashlight which is why i wouldn't think it is that dim.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

This might work standalone, HOWEVER-the only issue might be some added menu's like "Brutal Doom Options" which as it is present, it wont have any added effects XD

It doesn't work with the experimental Poly Render option in GZDoom dude... and that's a problem, 'cause Brütal Doom doesn't work correct in OpenGL.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

I tested it with the new Poly Render and it works just fine for me. Are you sure you are loading it correctly and that you aren't using the Dark Doom flashlight from too far away on the shoulder to not tell a difference when not moving? That flashlight mode even works for me, the drop off distance is greater however so that is a heads up.

I like this mod very much. I use the DarkDoom flashlight for distance, and the Standard one for width. This is already, and with UDV support will remain, my go-to. Thanks for making and updating this mod for us, we appreciate it.
