Our type of “old school” is a very different breed than the type encountered in today’s “old school”. Yes, there are similarities; We too have upped the action, speed and gore, but not to the extreme lengths seen in the new Doom game. Our levels are built for exploration, progression and environmental puzzles. These are our main qualities. Phobos is closer to games like Half-Life or Dark Forces/Jedi Knight in spirit. Just like Classic Doom, these games are types of First Person Shooters that have all but vanished. We truly are a different kind of oldschool.

You do not recall how you got there or any specifics about your person. You soon meet Samantha Miles, an agent of a sketchy world-wide conglomerate, who claims to know you. While she helps you with your identity, you aide her in the quest to find a long lost friend and missing agent. When the original events of Doom 3 unfold, the two of you must scramble for safety while still tracking down the missing agent and your identity.

How to play with modern resolution? I use the absolute HD mod but I don't think that works with this.
It is tweakable from the menu alongside the aspect ratio.
the menu options are broken resolutions wont set.

install direct X of doom3
When I click play then click the difficulty level it loads then takes me to the main menu, but it has no sound. How do I play the game?
Also I installed it a ran it the way you said it just ends up crashing.

Your D3 Version? You must use the last one.
Your Operation System? If you are using non-windows D3, mod won't work.
Steam version, so I assume is the latest. It's not BFG. And yes, it's PC, windows 10.
The version.inf file contains the following:

Are you sure that's your D3 v1.3.1, and not 1.3.0? If not, check for updates.
Do you have Doom 3: Resurrection Of Evil in additon regular Doom 3? Error shows absense one of main files of the D3:RoE
Did you extracted pk4 file into "tfuture" folder? It is diserable to do that.

After 14 years of development, it's finally here, the longest waiting has ended and comes with the most excellent mod for DOOM 3, a lot of thanks for not giving up during the creation of this spectacular mod.

Loads up fine but the text is all really small and im getting some nasty screen tearing and light textures are flickering (i know the difference between Doom 3's lights just doing that for spooks and something not being right with them) None of these problems arise when I start up vanilla Doom 3. im not very tech savvy so i dunno what could be causing it.
Do you use AMD? Try these steps:
1. Create a copy of doom3.exe called phobos.exe
2. Edit the .bat file to use Phobos.exe
3. Ingame menu disable HDR and bloom if the mod uses it

We get doom eternal, and now this? hell yes
Unknown ammo type 'ammo_bloodstone', this is the error I get in the console when I try and load in any of the two levels at the menu. I have done all I can to try and get it working troubleshooting ways and still nothing. Is there a fix for this issue? I want to play this so bad but I can't get it to load in.

Yes I do have Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil installed and Doom 3 of course both from steam with the latest patches. And yes the game crashes to the menu when I try and load the map. I don't know what to do.
How do you launch the mod?
Phobos.bat or otherwise?
I have tried launching it through the .bat, I have also tried it through steam with the extra launch options and I have also tried it through making a shortcut and adding the extra lines in the target part of the shortcut but nothing has worked.
What difficulty are you trying to play with?
Also do you have a clean install of Doom 3 and Doom 3: RoE with no other mods installed?
I have tried all difficulties and all the same problem. No I do not have a clean install of Doom 3 and RoE, I am re downloading them now on steam for fresh installs and I will try the mod then. If it doesn't work I will be back. I certainly hope a clean install fixes it though. Fingers crossed.

It works now, I just completed my 3rd play through. I haven't gone to bed yet I just keep playing this. I just came back to say thanks for this wonderful mod and sticking through with it. I really do enjoy this alot more then some of the AAA or Indie releases lately so thank you very much <3

My Doom 3 version is 1.3.1 so I'm pretty sure it's up to date and I'm using Windows 10.

Yep, Resurrection of Evil is installed too.
I copied the "tfphobos" file to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Doom 3" where I also put "Phobos.bat". I tried double clicking "Phobos.bat" and the error message comes up, same when I tried running via a desktop shortcut with the parameters, same result. Then I tried running from the mods page on the game itself and after seeing the background image briefly, it just crashes with no message.
Is it a fresh install of Doom3 and ROE? We've seen a few people experiencing issues with other mods/files conflicting.
OK, working so far. Gotta say, I am blown away. The level design is amazing! Superb work, shaviro!
I'll tell you if any other problems come up. Otherwise, congrats!
