It has an extremely high rate of fire, and reloads after expending its 13 round magazine. A double tap will drop most enemies Select: Key 2 * Mossberg 590 shotgun: The Mossberg 590 is a 12-gauge, pump action shotgun - as used by the USA's Navy SEAL units. Shotguns are used by special forces units in situations where a light, powerful and reliable "security" weapon is required. The shotgun is an extremely effective jungle warfare weapon, and is most lethal at short to mid-range. Select: Key 3 * Heckler & Koch MP5: The MP5 family of machine guns are standard issue in practically every counter-terrorist unit in the world. The HK MP5 has exceptional stopping power and accuracy up to 200 metres. The precision, ease of use and multiple firing modes of the HK MP5 make it the only choice for counter-terrorism. In Covert Ops, you'll have the opportunity to use auto and "triple-burst" HK MP5's. Auto: This variant can fire unlimited bursts, and automatically reloads after 30 shots. Select: Key 4 Tri-Burst: This semi-auto variant fires three tightly grouped shots for each trigger press. Like the auto version it reloads after 30 bullets have been expended. Select: Key 4 * Heckler & Koch MP5-SD: A completely silenced version of the MP5 rifle. The SD is the ultimate covert counter-terrorist weapon. The MP5-SD uses an integral flash and sound suppressor to make virtually no noise nor a muzzle flash. The only side-effect is reduced bullet velocity, and consequently, a slight decrease in hitting power. Apart from this, the MP5-SD is identical to the automatic MP5. * M-16 Assault Rifle: This is the standard issue automatic rifle of many Western armies. The M-16 lays down a lot of 5.56mm, but is rather unstable when firing. Like the vast majority of automatic weapons, rounds will "go high" if you fire in long bursts. Nevertheless, the M-16 is a good choice for jungle or non-counter terrorist missions. It has a very high rate of fire, and exceptional hitting power. Select: Key 5 * M-203 Rocket Launcher: The 203 is a short grenade launching attachment that is underslung on the barrel of a M-16. The 203 propels highly explosive 40mm grenades with a great deal of accuracy. The big advantage of the M-203 is that it gives soldiers additional combat power - while not being overly heavy or complex to use. Care must be exercised when using this weapon in jungle missions as foliage can block missiles, causing them to explode unexpectedly. Select: Key 5 (the 203 uses your secondary fire key) * Hand Grenades: Very effective and versatile weapons, which are aided by the 'mouselook' feature of EDGE. Grenades are often used in hostage rescue missions as part of a distractive entry. Grenades can also be bounced down stairs, or around corners. Care must be taken so the grenade does not bounce back at your feet. Select: Key 6 * PSG-1 Rifle: The most expensive snipers rifle in production, each rifle costs around $10,000 US dollars. Due to its cost, the PSG is used only by elite police and special forces units. The PSG-1 is mainly a counter-terrorist weapon, due to a relatively short reach of 600m. The PSG has a five round magazine, and can deliver huge damage at long range. Once shot will instantly kill almost any enemy. The rifle also has a telescoping zoom feature, to make long distance sniping possible.
