The definitive gameplay enhancement mod for the GZDoom and Zandronum engines. Adds realistic gore, dismemberments, headshots, executions, lightning effects, particles, makes enemies smarter and harder, makes gun louder and beefier, and adds epic new boss battles.
IDKFA By Andrew Hulshult This is a total music conversion mod for the original Doom. All tracks have been professionally remade from scratch with the original vibe of Bobby Prince's music kept in mind while doing so. All tracks were recorded at 44.1/24 bit through a RME Fireface UFX Into Presonus Studio One Pro 3. This pack contains the looped files for in-game use as well as the entire album in MP3 and Flac format FOR FREE!!! THE CONTENTS OF THIS DOWNLOAD ARE FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY. NONE OF THIS MUSIC MAY BE USED ON A COMMERCIAL PRODUCT. Thanks: A huge thank you to sgtmarkiv for helping me compile this as well as giving me feedback along the way. The same goes for Bobby Prince, John Romero, Jeremy Megert, Frederik Schreiber, Dave Oshry, Terry Nagy, Leon Zawada, Fabio Selvaggio, Jeremy Megert, Logan (TekSyndicate), Mark Diaz, Jason OConnell and Clint (LazyGameReviews) A giant thank you to the original and new Doom team for creating and keeping a beloved franchise by many ali
LOVE it!
RIP AND TEAR
I was waiting for this!
Doom as never been so epic!
this is just for episode 1 of the ultimate doom, or for the entire game?
@Foxdash
It's for the whole Doom 1 game.
ah, ok, thank you.
I kinda have a sensation that Andrew will make one for Doom II, too.
I hope he does.
nah, he hasn't made iddqd yet
eight years later and it seems you finally got what you wanted lol
full game
Hell yeah!!
Any plans for a similar project for Doom 2?
Ask Andrew Hulshult, he is the one who composed the music.
I like most of the tracks but I'm not fond of human chorus in D_E1M5 or the evil voice in D_BUNNY.
they're bonus features
700 mb, omg
I was kinda hoping for separate FLAC, MP3 and WAD downloads, but this is too good to complain ^^
Oh jeez, 719 MB, but it's worth it.
EDIT: OK yep, these tracks in FLAC, MP3, and packaged in a WAD (OGG Format). It's worth it.
EDIT 2: Enjoying that Waltz of the Demons remix right now! Everything else is kick ***!
Maybe tomorrow im going to download it, but wy the filesize is too ruge? File format? A lot of músics?
Most music packs has in max 150 or 200 mb, the big packs in most times, are multiple packs for doom games(doom,doom2,plutonia,tnt,freedoom...all in one zip/rar file)
E2M8 be like - Nobody told me about AH
Anyway, great tracks Andrew! Like DoomVideoVault said, I also didn't like E1M5 human chorus and the D_BUNNY evil voice. You could have put some metal there.
Reversed, the demon voice is 'To win the game, you must hire me, Andrew Hurshult.' The rest is credits for id crew
awesome. really awesome!
******* Awesome!
Awesome! Dude ur god1 Thanks a lot!
Hey, that's pretty good!
This is by far the best metal soundtrack I've found for doom. It's balanced very well. the music doens't drown out the gunfire. it's perfect.
Wow, this sounds pretty good. One thing I'm kind of triggered by.. I mean that's most likely small overlook, but it would've been great if you fixed E1M1. See, in the first measure (if you count the guitar as 16th notes), when melody descends all the way to B-flat, the two last notes in this measure should be B natural and C while in the sountrack it's repeated B-flat and then B natural. I felt there's something off, after listening to the original soundtrack a lot, it's kinda annoying. I double checked with original to be 100% sure, and there's definitely B natural and C as the last two notes. I hope you don't mind I'm bitching about this, but in this case it's really noticeable. Anyway, cheers and thanks for the great soundtrack :)
P.S.
Same happens to the riff on different steps too (so starting from B and from A). But now that I'm listening more, it seems you took quite a liberty to play with original theme, which is nice and interesting. So, maybe altered riff was a deliberate choice? Though, if playing with main riff, it would be nice that at least this riff is preserved in it's original form. Just my two cents, I doubt it's even worth messing with the whole piece just for two notes.. but then, it would be perfect.
Wow! An intelligent critique in a comment section on the internet. You come by those too often.
I don't know much about written music but speaking as someone who loved everything from the first DooM's and just finding out about this remake I would hope that the remake follows the original very close if not perfectly, other than the music instrument of the time being replaced by modern instruments and maybe a few tweaks here and there to make it sound like an actual performance.
The little I've skimmed through sounds friggin' awesome! The only thing that I don't really care for are, as mentioned by others, the chorus, which isn't bad (IMO) but maybe if we could get a version without it that would be cool to choose, and the backwards vocals in 'Dead Bunny', which in this case I didn't like.
Still a great project and one I'll definitely put to use!
Considering that original Doom music was basically variations on different metal songs, I think that having some liberty in IDKFA is good - as long as there are iconic riffs/melodies we're so used to, solos or added fragments fit really well in the mood.
Being a musician I'm picky when it comes to these things.. so yea, one wrong note in probably most recognizable riff in the whole Doom soundtrack simply bothers me.
But, maybe it's a good thing I'm picking on such relatively small issue.. that means the rest is just so well made, I can't think of anything else.. ;)))
Again, really enjoyed playing with this. And about 'pure' versions.. well, I find them too repetitive - we're already kinda limited harmonically by the original, even if we expand the segments/melodies.. so forcing it to follow the original strictly wouldn't sound so good, and expanded sound capabilities fit really well with expanded structure too! Of course, as long as it *feels* like Doom - and it does in this case! (check this out - Youtube.com - and now remember the beginning of MAP01 in D2..; electric guitars need some more freedom to express themselves I guess).

does this also include doom 2 soundtracks?
No. Only original Doom OST.
Some tracks remind me Terminator 2 soundtrack. I mean instruments. Amazing.

Any chance of getting a doom 2 version? not like remaking the whole doom 2 songs but replacing them with these ones
100/10 Best Soundtrack Ever
10/10. Love this.
Oh man, I've been waiting for this! Just awesome. And Brutal.
this is for doom 2 ?
So after a few months of playing w/ this soundtrack I can say that I (and my boner) love this remake. Didn't like the bunny track, as for the chorus in a few songs didn't really care for but then grew on me to the point that I like it as much as the rest of the tracks (except bunny track). Would love to see Doom 2!
Yes I love his remixes!

to help, (this is the same Guy from above) I am running GZDoom 3.2.0 with Linux mint 18.
Could you please elaborate? Not trying to be rude, just need more info 2 help. Did you try dragging the correct files?
I can only give it a 99/10, E3M9 is supposed to play Hiding the Secrets, not At Doom's Gate.
That aside, the music is absolutely stunning!
This is so epic. I've been waiting to hear something like this since 1993. And it's even better than I could even hope for! Thanks a lot.
How do i find the skins folder?
Anyone having problems finding the skins folder
I hope this amazing man create soundtrack for Doom 2).
