REQUIREMENTS:
================================

- Doom3 and ROE v1.3.1
- Any modern computer. Note that Fragging Free is more demanding compared to vanilla Doom3.
- Windows / Linux

HOW TO INSTALL: Steam / Vanilla D3 (WINDOWS ONLY)
================================

- Make sure you have ROE installed updated to 1.3.1

- Locate your 'Doom3' folder.
(Steam: Select 'DOOM 3' game -> Right click -> Manage -> Browse local files)

- Make sure there is no custom stuff in 'base' and 'd3xp' folders.
Only original content should be present.

- If you have an older version of the mod remove it by deleting the 'fraggingfree' folder.

- extract this zip file in your 'Doom3' folder (not 'base').
A folder named 'fraggingfree' and a file named 'FraggingFree.bat' will be created.

HOW TO INSTALL: dhewm3 1.5.1+ (WINDOWS / LINUX)
================================

- Make sure you have at least dhewm3 v1.5.1, otherwise the mod will not start.
Download the latest dhewm3 release from Github.com

- Locate your 'dhewm3' folder.

- Make sure you have both D3 and ROE content configured in dhewm3.

- Make sure there is no custom stuff in 'base' and 'd3xp' folders.
Only original content should be present.

- Copy the 'fraggingfree' folder in your 'dhewm3' folder.

- Download the latest Fragging Free 1.4 binaries for dhewm3 from: Github.com
Windows: extract 'fraggingfree.dll' in your 'dhewm3' folder.
Linux: extract 'fraggingfree.so' in your 'dhewm3' folder.

RUNNING THE MOD:
================================

You cannot load the mod from the mod list (because it's a ROE mod).
Use one of the following methods:

> Method 1: Steam (Windows): Select 'DOOM 3' game -> Right click -> Properties -> Set launch options: +set fs_game fraggingfree +set fs_game_base d3xp

> Method 2: Vanilla D3 (Windows): Use the file "FraggingFree.bat" included in this archive. Just make sure it's in your Doom3 folder (not 'base').

> Method 3: dhewm3 (Windows/Linux): Run with parameters: +set fs_game fraggingfree +set fs_game_base d3xp

TROUBLESHOOTING:
================================

Q: When the game starts loading a map I'm thrown back to mainmenu.
A: Don't load the mod from the mainmenu list. It has to be directly launched as described in the "RUNNING THE MOD" section.

Q: I get the error message "Wrong game DLL API version"
A: Update Doom3 to v1.3.1

KNOWN ISSUES (tested with dhewm3 1.5.1_RC2):
================================

- Only english language supported.

- [dhewm3 only] Some sounds are out-of-sync after skipping cinematics.

- [dhewm3 only] Machinegun sounds feel different.

- [dhewm3 only] Volume of Jetpack and Vehicle sounds is higher than vanilla version.

RANDOM ADVICES BEFORE PLAYING:
================================

- You can change the difficulty level at any time in the main menu.

- Play the tutorial.

- Extra ammo and bonuses are always the reward for those who look around and keep their eyes open. :D

- Don't run forward without thinking.
