HXRTC Project by: Hexereticdoom (For use with Doom and Doom II games)
--- HXRTC Project Golden Edition Plus --- Check the description for more details! Read more...
IMPORTANT: THIS MOD REQUIRES AT LEAST GZDOOM 4.X.X (OR LATEST RELEASES OF LZDOOM/QZDOOM) TO WORK PROPERLY. OLDER VERSIONS OF GZDOOM/LZDOOM/QZDOOM AND/OR OTHER SOURCEPORTS LIKE ZANDRONUM ARE NOT SUPPORTED.
HXRTC Project Golden Edition Plus compressed ZIP file includes the following content:
From now on, there are also included in the ZIP file a small collection of external addons (they give some extra interesting features in the mod gameplay) and a few GZDoom patches that bring some improvements for the original classic Doom, Final Doom, Heretic & Hexen WADs, plus for some well-known custom megawads.
Most of these custom addons and patches have been originally created by several users; at the same time most of them are distributed as-is, without any modification (or almost none) and it's guaranteed that they're 100% compatible with the H-Project mod. For more further details, check the text files included in the ZIP's Addons and Patches respective folders.
DESCRIPTION
The HXRTC Project is an addon for exclusive use with Doom & Doom II games, that means it won't work correctly with Heretic, Hexen or Strife games. However, it's fully compatible with many classic custom Doom megawads that don't alter the gameplay, monsters and/or weapons in a critic way. (For example, megawads using special definitions through DEHACKED lumps, unless a patch for them is created). You'll be able to play with HXRTC Project addon with megawads like Alien Vendetta, Community Chest series, Hell Revealed, Icarus, Memento Mori, Scythe, etc. Also you can use it with some auto-generated wads or megawads by Oblige or Obhack tools, so the fun can be almost endless!
If you don't have the required Doom or Doom II wad files to run this mod, alternatively you can download the FreeDoom Phase 1 & Phase 2 wads and still enjoy all your favorite megawads. Yes, the HXRTC Project is also compatible with FreeDoom! You can get the latest wad releases from the following website:

WHAT CAN BE EXACTLY FOUND HERE?
Well, as presumably and like many other existing mods, it adds plenty new things and features respect from the classic Doom. In fact, it has a huge bunch of new monsters (more than 200 different enemies actually, taken from several sources and customized specially for the mod), a large weapons arsenal (more than 50, including dual-wield modes) with also plenty of new items and new ammo types, and some exclusive abilities (in this mod the player has a bit more walk/run speed, can jump higher, has more health and armor capacity, and can enter in a 'rage-stage' if receives enough damage from enemies, doubling this way his attack power). Furthermore the monsters, weapons, ammo and items are totally randomized from one game to another, making player progress easier or tougher depending on map conditions and/or his luck.
In general terms, monsters are a bit harder in this mod than in classic Doom, but also the player weapons are quite more powerful than classic ones. Player starting weapon is a special pistol named Z-Gun, which has infinite ammo, but it's globally weaker than the rest of weapons, so like in Hexen game, it's better using it at first on weak enemies and save collected ammo for harder foes in latter levels. Also, some monsters have some special resistances depending of their nature elements (fire, ice, electric, stone or poison) so also some weapons can be less effective versus them than other ones. (More details in the mod's Help Screen!)
Killed enemies can drop (apart from weapons, ammo and/or items) coins and special treasures, which can be collected for increasing player's funds with the possibility of investing them buying some basic elements from Trade Shop Droids (special units spawned randomly in levels) like weapons, ammo & health refills, armors, special items, etc. There is also the possibility of meeting some special powerful allies to help you killing enemy hordes. Big bosses (Cybies and SM types I mean) will release a special prize for defeating them, a Mistery Box that can hide a lot of precious items or a nasty surprise, depending of your luck.
So well, all those features (and some more not detailed here) can be encountered in the mod, so if you're curious and want to discover yourself the rest of them, I recommend to download it and play it. Hope it will be a good and fun Doom experience for you! ;)
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're experiencing some problems executing HXRTC Project addon with your current GZDoom or LZDoom version, please check for a more recent version in their webpages, development versions are often recommended:
HOT TIP: If you are a GZDoom user and you own a good/newer computer, you should load also the LIGHTS.PK3 and BRIGHTMAPS.PK3 files provided in GZDoom's main folder for a better experience in game. For example, HXRTC Project includes a lot of new dynamic light definitions, but if you don't load the basic LIGHTS.PK3 within the mod, some of them may get missing. On the other hand, if your computer is quite old and/or slow, deactivating use of dynamic lights through GZDoom's options menu could be a good idea for increasing global game performance.
If you are using the JPHUD HealthBar for first time and having strange screen issues, you should go to GZDoom's Main Menu > Options > HUD Options > JP HealthBar Option and scale the health bar resolution conveniently to your actual screen size.
This Doom project has been created mainly from arranged & fixed versions of WEAPONS OF SATURN weapon mod and DOOM MONSTER RANDOMIZER monster mod, along with lots and lots of edited extra elements (most of them from Realm667 website) and some other additional random generators/spawners coded by me, for making your oddisey through Doom a bit different from one game to another.
By the way, the HXRTC Project has been created from multiple sources just and only for fun. So don't think bad, I'm absolutely not earning any money from it in any way, not even in the hosting and downloading file action. Just please enjoy and play, OK?
ABOUT THE HUD: From some versions ago, the HXRTC HUD for HXRTC Project is now fully integrated into the mod's main file, so it's no longer necessary loading it separately on GZDoom.
For showing the HUD correctly, you must set in Display Options a screensize of 11 and turn off the alternative HUD. On the other hand, if you find the size of the HXRTC HUD is too small, you should open GZDoom's HUD Scaling Options and tweak the Fullscreen HUD override option to the most suitable value for your computer (this can vary quite a lot depending on your current screen resolution, so try several values pressing Left or Right cursor arrows until you find the most appropriate setup for you).

Works with complex doom?
Oops, I didn't see your comment last time, sorry for the answer delay...
To be honest I haven't tested it, but I doubt it works OK with Complex Doom. The HXRTC Project is mainly a stand-alone mod, and merging it with some other non-totally-compatible mods or addons may get unexpected results.
Some other people has already asked me if the H-Project works with Brutal Doom or Project Brutality, and my response is the same: absolutely no guarantees and no responsabilities if something gets broken even trying it... :P
Hi there Moddb users! I'm proud to announce the release of what has been one of my most ambitious Doom mods up to this time... For everyone, here I present you: HXRTC Project Golden Edition! This new release is in fact a continuation of the previous version HXRTC Project Final Edition, which for some time has been receiving small updates and hotfixings, but this one I bring you is by far a major update of this Doom mod. It includes several new weapons, more exclusive enemies, tons of new items and decoration elements and much more!
Please get access to the latest info about H-Project Golden Edition (including download links) visiting the official ZDoom forum thread:
Forum.zdoom.org
Hope you enjoy this new release, and have a nice Doomsday everyone! ;)
One of the best mods I've ever played !! , good job !
I Love You So Much!!!
the w-shotgun is too loud and annoying sound effect
sniper rifle should shoot just as fast in scope mode, as non-scope mode, its too painful too use in scope mode as it is, because it's too slow
those might be my two only gripes with your mod, but it's still a great mod, and i'll be eternally grateful for it!
New update of the HXRTC mod is up! Check the latest changes at ZDoom's official thread:
Forum.zdoom.org
Keep enjoying and have fun! Also, nice Doomsday to everyone... ;)
Can it run eith ports like D-Touch or delta touch?
Actually one of the best Doom 2 mods ever made. The amount of polish, detail and sheer amount of content really shows that this is a labor of love.
Thank you so much for making this, its a definite favorite for me. I'll be playing through a lot of megawads with this mod.
will the next version of the mod be updated?

Keep having fun as usual my dear Doomguys! ;)
Hi there Doom mates, how is it going? :)
After several days of pretty hard work and intensive SLADE sessions, I'm announcing you that a new release of the mod is up! And although this one doesn't incorporate too much new things, it comes with an important new major feature that is gonna change significantly your gameplay experience in the mod (not talking about internal EXP system, but from your own one) plus some new graphic improvements still not included in previous versions!
A more detailed changelog list is available at the official ZDoom thread:
Forum.zdoom.org
I sincerely hope you like this new release! And don't forget, if you encounter any bug or issue in the mod that overshadows your gaming experience, please report it and I'll check and fix it in ASAP.
Take care my friends, and I wish you happy winter holidays to everyone! :D
I have beaten Ultimate Doom, Doom II, and Master Levels with this mod. It is pretty good.
Hello again Doomguys, just announcing that a new update of the mod is available for download. Please check more info about the latest changes at the official ZDoom forum thread:
Forum.zdoom.org
Additionally, the H-Project compressed ZIP file includes now a small collection of external addons that give some extra interesting features in the mod gameplay and a few GZDoom patches that bring some improvements for the original classic Doom, Final Doom, Heretic & Hexen WADs, plus for some well-known custom megawads.
Hope you keep enjoying with the mod... Happy Christmas holidays for everyone, guys!
Quick reply to notify that I have released a last-minute hotfix for yesterday's update. Seems that for an unknown reason, some internal lump changes of the mod were not saved correctly through SLADE tool, so after some time looking over it I have managed to recover all the features that were temporarily lost. Still I don't know what exactly happened, just cannot explain...
Sorry for the inconvenience Doomguys, I sincerely hope that type of issues do not happen again. For this reason, I strongly recommend you to download again the file ASAP.
I have also included a few additional features as a small compensation, here you can check more info about them:
Forum.zdoom.org
Keeping in search of more hidden bugs, I hope there is no need for another immediate hotfix...
Again, I wish you have very happy Christmas holidays, please enjoy and keep having fun! ;)
Happy New Year my Doom mates, how is it going? Hope all of you be fine, so cheers for everyone! :)
As a small present, I bring you a new update of the H-Project mod which keeps growing little by little with no pause! Yep, I've been quite inspired these last weeks, so taking advantage of it is the best thing to do, don't you think so? ;)
You can check the most recent features in this release accessing at the official ZDoom forum thread:
Forum.zdoom.org
Hope you keep having lots of fun! Cheerio everyone, and again I wish you a Happy New Year! :D

Hi there mates, a minor update of the H-Project mod is ready for download. :)
This version doesn't bring any remarkable changes, it is just a maintenance release that fixes some problems related to a few actors that were not spawning correctly in certain circumstances and were being 'destroyed' instead (specially in very narrow places or on liquid surfaces).
That's all for now... Hope you keep enjoying and having fun! ;)
Hey, how is it going dear Doomguys? :)
Well, here it comes another mod update! Revision 4 is now ready for download, and as usual it includes some pertinent bugfixes, plus a few new features to keep it up! :D

There's still room to improve and some work to do, of course... But I'll will keep working and enhancing the mod for your fun, you know! :)
Enjoy as usual and have a nice Doomsday mates! ;)
A+ Mod. Had a lot of fun after figuring out what was going on
OK guys, as I told you a few days ago, the next release of the mod was going to be published at the end of this month... And fortunately and after all, I have been able to anticipate the planned release date, so the H-Project Revision 6 is available for download from now! :)
This will be for sure the last update for this current year, or better said, this hateful and gruesome year... A year that will undoubtedly be difficult to forget, due of course to that disgusting microscopic aberration that has fundamentally changed our lives causing unimaginable damage to all of us in various ways, and worst of all is that this monstrosity that can't be seen with the naked eye, but is still there, and that thing still refuses to disappear forever from our world... I hope that the day will soon come when this critical stage that each and every one of us is going through, comes to an end, to its TRUE end, and that over time it will become a bad memory... Until then, we have to remain strong, and only with our will and some sacrifice we'll be able to get out of this... :(
Well... now my friends, let's put that topic aside and let's focus on this... By the way, the list of changes for Revision 6 has taken me a while to complete, but from this moment you can read it accessing as usual at the official ZDoom forum thread:
Forum.zdoom.org
Keep having fun with the mod, hope you enjoy this new release! ;)
Is there any wiki for this mode?some of these items and weapons functions are unknown. It would be great to have info about them.
PS:can you implement some minions from Brothers in Arms mode?Rena,Nagato,Takako and the witch character.
Moddb.com
Well, I have plans to include very soon in the compressed ZIP file an additional help text file with more info about the mod, but I still haven't finished yet. Anyway, if you got any question about certain items and/or weapons, you can ask it anytime right here or sending me a PM. ;)
Respect the Brother in Arms mod, I'll have to study it first and check if I can make an external addon for use with the mod, but it could take me some time to make it possible, so I ask you for a little patience...
Thanks for the reply.Actually I have some idea about some minions.
supportive minion(small imp like creature, not doom imp variant):He does not attack, instead just give unique items like radiation grenade,RPG shot, small health bottle, stealth suit etc.
Witch/sorcerer minion: give buffs to player or debuffs to enemy's,teleport and attack.
Demon minion(fly):Leech enemy health and give it to player.(like leech grenade of project brutality.
All three minions can be summoned from inventory with radio or some magic orb for a limited amount of time. You can give them command like follow or stay. You get this radio/orb with large health pickups,So its not rare like supersphere or frequent like ammo drops.
Or you get these minions by rescuing them in different levels and then they can be summoned from their respective orb/radio.In this case when they are summoned they fight alongside player for limited time and then leave. After that their orb/radio needs to cool down for a set amount of time. After the cooldown they can be summoned again. These minions should not be overpowered.
they should have low health(like 200) and low damage. If you could implement these type of minion, that will add a whole new flavor to this mode.
All minions mode i have found so far is overpowered. They clear the room without my help, and its not fun.
Hello again Doom dudes, and despite being a little late, I wish you all a happy new year! :)
(And yes, I hope this present year become better than the previous one, sincerely...)
Well, to say that I have not logged in Mod DB webpage from several past days for being quite busy with several things, including between them the completion of Revision 7 for H-Project. As the usual thing, the mod keeps growing and improving little by little, and I'm sure this new release will be to the liking of all of you my dear friends! ;)
And for being brief and not wasting any more time with the usual preambles, here you can read the changelog for Revision 7:

Hi there again Doomguys, how is it going? Well, I hope! Just announcing that there is available right now a minor update (but recommended) release of the mod, which fixes some slight issues from previous versions, and at the same time brings a few new features that were not included on time before due to some implementation problems, but now they are full ready to go! :)
You can read the detailed changelog for the R7b update here:
Forum.zdoom.org
Updated download link is awaiting for you right up here, as usual...
Keep enjoying and having fun, my dear Doom mates! ;)
Oh my god yes!
Hi there guys! I've published some instants ago the R7c update as a minor maintenance release. And hence, this one doesn't get any destacable changes in-game to highlight, just some internal code polishments and a few graphic improvements. It is not essential, but it is recommended to update your file copies with this one. Also, next future version will come with some more new features, although it will may be delayed a bit...
Meanwhile you wait patiently, I hope you keep enjoying with the most current releases of the mod. ;)
Have lots of fun, Doomguys! :D
